From Our CEO

In January, our area narrowly avoided what could have been damaging weather. While we prepared for the possibility of severe conditions, it was reassuring to know how much progress has been made to strengthen our electric and fiber systems.

Recent substation upgrades have improved our ability to handle increased demand, replacing older facilities that were reaching the end of their service life. Expanded fiber infrastructure has enhanced system monitoring, allowing us to better track load and transmission conditions and respond more effectively when issues arise.

We have also taken proactive steps to address overloaded transmission lines through targeted improvements, resolving several critical concerns. Ongoing right-of-way clearing has significantly reduced the risk posed by falling trees and limbs, and a sustained focus on replacing aging utility poles has strengthened reliability across our service area.

While we were fortunate that the storm did not impact our community, the investments made in recent years have placed our system in a stronger position than ever before. These improvements help us better prepare for severe weather and allow us to respond more quickly and safely when challenges occur.
