PES Fiber Expansion Update
Welcome to the latest edition of our Fiber Expansion Update!
Phase 1
✅ Complete — Service is available.
👉 New requests will be scheduled after the completion of Phase 3 installations.
Phase 2
✅ Complete — Service is available.
👉 New requests will be scheduled after the completion of Phase 3 installations.
Phase 3 (9 Areas)
- Drops Remaining: Approximately a dozen (drop = fiber from the pole to the home).
- Installations Remaining: Around 80.
- Current Pace: ~30 installations per week.
Phase 4 (5 Areas)
- Drops Remaining: Approximately 80.
- Next Step: Once these are built, final installations will begin.
👉 Most of the remaining work in Phases 3 and 4 involves locations that requested service after the original contractor waitlist had closed.
If you’re in Phase 5 Project 1 or 2, make sure you’re on the waitlist now to avoid installation delays!
Phase 5 (4 Areas) — Next Round of Expansion Underway
- Engineering & Right-of-Way Clearing: ✅ Complete
- Pole Replacements: 100 of 134 ✅ Complete
- Construction: Divided into 4 projects due to material lead times (15–18 weeks).
Project 1 – Fall River / Johnson Branch / Tin Top Road
- Mainline Fiber Construction: Well underway.
- If you’re on the waitlist, your drop will be built in the coming weeks.
- Goal: Installations scheduled by Dec. 1.
Project 2 – Charlie Howell Road
- Mainline Construction: Beginning within the next two weeks.
- Drops: May be delayed until December due to material availability.
Projects 3 & 4
- Target Completion: Dec. 31.
- Installations Begin: January 2026.
- Locations: To be released soon.

Thank you for your patience as our contractors complete their final clean-up work.
Final inspections are underway in Phases 3 and 4 to ensure:
- Fiber is properly strapped to poles (not at the base),
- All fiber entrances and exits are protected with U-guards,
- And other quality standards are met.
